Learn and Get 2 Take 5's

Hi all – we are excited to share a free DEI training that NSAA is offering all ski industry employees. The content may look familiar to many of you as it was developed by Annie Kao of Ascent Inclusion Consulting, who was Arapahoe Basin’s DEI Consultant, and now Alterra’s VP of Social Responsibility. Annie worked with A-Basin’s DEI Committee and you can find more details on our webpage https://www.arapahoebasin.com/diversity-equity-inclusion/ . This DEI training is highly encouraged and is important as it teaches us all how to contribute to A-Basin’s welcoming vibe, shed light on unconscious bias, and support a safe and equitable work environment for all employees.

Here is how to take the DEI 101: Inclusive Mountain Culture course. You can take it on a computer, tablet or phone.

1. Visit https://deieducation.nsaa.org/ and click on REGISTER button.

2. Choose member type: SKI AREA. State CO, and Ski Area: Arapahoe Basin Ski Area

3. Enter you name, email, job description, choose a password and click SUBMIT.

4. You may receive an email confirming your address with a link to log into DEI 101.

5. Once on the platform, click LEARN at the bottom left of the home page to begin the DEI 101 training. There will be an introductory video from Kelly Pawlak, president of NSAA, then click into the training chapter. Once training is completed and all questions are answered correctly, you will receive your completion certificate.

6. Once completed…call, email, text, or stop by HR to get your two Take Fives.
