Climate Equity Plan for Summit County

Please check out the message below from our partners at HC3. They’re developing the Climate Equity portion of Summit County’s Climate Action Plan and need input from all the nooks and crannies of our community. Hoping we can help them gather that input. Check it out and follow the link below to their short (about 5 min) survey.

High Country Conservation Center is currently developing a Climate Equity Plan for Summit County. The Climate Equity Plan builds on the existing Climate Action Plan, with a focus on developing strategies that will ensure all communities in Summit County have access to the benefits of climate action and a healthier environment. Topic areas include energy efficiency and renewables, waste diversion, and transportation.

This is a plan that needs your voice and voices from your community to make the biggest difference. We are hoping you can spread this information among your networks so we can cast a wide net and get as many responses as possible. Community members can share their thoughts with us by taking a survey to give input online, or by attending an in-person focus group. The survey is available in English, French, and Spanish. Share the link below for the online version; printed copies are available from HC3 upon request. Participants will receive a $10 grocery store gift card to thank them for their time.

The survey questions are designed to gather information that will allow us to create community-inclusive climate strategies. We are specifically hoping for responses from people of color, immigrant populations, low-income populations, and others who might face additional barriers to accessing resources in the County.
